  • Hi Michael,

You are located 40 miles away from Sunnyvale, so I thought that our meeting might interest you.
We are organizing a meetup "What is NewSQL? Use cases which made it happen!" in Sunnyvale on April 16 at 6:00 pm.

You can find the details of the event and the list of speakers here http://www.meetup.com/Silicon-Valley-...

    Thanks!

  • "Learning by being wrong": maybe Google "simulated annealing". The simplest way I've heard it described is that if you're blindfolded on a surface with many random hills and valleys, always going uphill is only going to bring you to the local maximum. If you want to have a good chance of finding the global maximum, you have to go downhill ("be wrong") a certain amount of the time.

I was actually hoping simulated annealing was on meetup. It's not, but in the search I found this group! Cool.

  • Hi Michael,

Welcome to the group! We'll try to get as much of everything covered as we can. NOSQL has made this into exciting days in the persistence layer, and graphs are an important tool in the modern toolkit.

I look forward to meeting you in person.

    Cheers,
    Andreas

  • Hi Michael,

Good to hear from you! I've been studying Oracle and decided to add the "The Most Powerful" open source database to the toolbox. Hope to see you at future meetings.
